Flying In
The main airport is Brunei International Airport (BWN). It is well-connected with direct flights on airlines like: Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia
Where to Stay in Brunei
While Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital, it's a small and sprawling city. The best places to stay are often in the commercial areas that make up its greater urban zone. Here are the most practical and well-located areas for visitors:
Gadong - The main commercial hub, known for its night market, restaurants, banks, and shopping malls like The Mall and Gadong Central.
Kiulap - A bustling business and dining district, popular for its wide variety of eateries and cafes. It's very well-connected.
BSB City Centre & Waterfront - The official heart of the capital, home to the majestic Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, royal ceremonies, and historic landmarks.
The Empire Hotel & Country Club - A luxurious resort located a short drive from the city. Ideal for those seeking beach and golf facilities in a more secluded setting.

Here’s a quick guide to transportation in Brunei to help you plan your stay.
1. Ride-Hailing Apps (The Most Popular & Convenient Method)
The easiest way to get around Bandar Seri Begawan is by using ride-hailing apps on your smartphone.
Dart: This is Brunei’s primary and most widely used ride-hailing app (similar to Grab or Uber). We highly recommend downloading it.
How it works: Download the "Dart" app from your phone's app store and register with your mobile number. You can pay in cash (BND) at the end of your trip.
2. Taxis Availability: Taxis are not as common as in other major cities and are not typically hailed on the street.
How to book: It's best to book them through your hotel front desk or by calling a taxi company. They usually operate on a fixed-rate or meter system.
Note: Ride-hailing apps are often more convenient and reliable than traditional taxis.
